Best dressed at the Met Ball 2014

Last night the annual Met Ball event was upon us again. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, A Listers were in abundance donning a variety of ball gowns and ensembles to appreciate the Gala’s theme: Charles James: Beyond Fashion.

Here is my best dressed list of the stars who attended:

Kendal Jenner

Wearing a Topshop gown, Kendal has proven that she is now officially with the “in” crowd of fashion as she graced the red carpet. She finished her look with Chopard jewellery and Tabitha Simmons shoes.

Emma Stone

The Spider-Man beauty has been gracing the fashion hit list more and more recently, proving that she is a serious one to watch. Wearing a Thakoon dress, Graziela Gems and EF Collection jewellery teamed with Miu Miu shoes and a Tod’s clutch, Emma looked a modern picture of elegance.

Anna Kendrick

Simple, yet chic with cut out details. Anna looked the part last night in this J Mendal gown. She teamed this with Brian Atwood shoes, Graff diamonds and a Rauwolf clutch.

Nicole Richie

Dressed in Donna Karan Atelier, Nicole has shown us her playful side with her lilac toned hair pulled back in an updo – giving her whole look a creative edge.

Leighton Meester

She’s been out of sight recently, having only been photographed with her new hubby Adam Brody, but Leighton Meester sure made a grand entrance last night in an embellished dress by Emilio Pucci. She paired this with David Yurman jewellery and a Smythson clutch.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Reminiscent of her Carrie days, SJP never fails to disappoint when it comes to standing out. Wearing custom made Oscar de la Renta with Fred Leighton jewellery, she continued to make her mark on the fashion hall of fame.

Giuliana Rancic

One of my favourite journalists, Giuliana looked glamorous and red-carpet-ready for the event in a Black Grecian one shoulder Rhea Costa gown and Suzanne Kalan earrings.

Blake Lively

Gone are the days of Gossip Girl, as Blake turned up in this Gucci number with husband Ryan Reynolds in toe.

Georgia May Jagger

This is the first time I’ve featured the model in one of my Best Dressed lists, and boy did she deserve it with this sleek Thierry Mugler gown with exquisite cut lines teamed with Sergio Rossi shoes.

Rosie Huntington-Lively

Opting for a look very different from her counterparts, Rosie donned a fierce leopard print dress and statement shoes by Balmain.

Karolina Kurkova

This Showstopper gown by Marchesa was one to watch as she floated down the red carpet. With hair tied back and a gorgeous Harry Winston diamonds, this large layered navy floral gown speaks for itself.

Emmy Rossum

This gorgeous frock is a nod to the bold, bright florals as Emmy graced the carpet in this larger-than-life Carolina Herrera gown and Van Cleef jewellery.

Cara Delevigne

Looking sharp as ever, and opting for a trousers suit – as opposed to her glorious punk gown last year, Cara went head-to-toe in Stella McCartney.

Reese Witherspoon

Rarely does she make an appearance of late, but Reese Witherspoon made the right decision to attend her first Met Gala with this hot pink Stella McCartney gown. The sweetheart neckline and body hugging material accents her curves and her hot pink lipstick and diamond earrings give just the right uumph to this look.

David and Victoria Beckham

British power couple of our time, the Beckhams looked chic and glamorous at the Met Ball – I’m sure Victoria wouldn’t have had it any other way. Complementing each other by sticking to a simplistic monochrome coupled look, Victoria wore her own label paired with Casadei heels and Jacob & Co. earrings and bracelet. Meanwhile David was dressed in a Ralph Lauren Black Label tuxedo suit.

So that’s my selection. What are your opinions?
