Presented at New York Fashion Week.
Having been worn by a number of A-Listers so far during this 2013 Awards season (including Taylor Swift), I thought I'd check out exactly what J. Mendel produced for his latest AW13 collection. I can confidently say I am impressed.
With a very chic, sophisticated, luxury image portrayed through the looks, this reminded me of the type of style you'd typically see on the likes of Victoria Beckham. Smart, casual for the well presented woman.
Mink fur coats and gilets are the go-to winter warmers for this collection, not to mention knee high boots, or perhaps include a pop of colour (blue to be precise) with a simple heel. Even for those who don't wear fur, this detail and soft artistry can only be admired. While we see looks in this collection for the “everyday” woman, there are also long maxi dresses/gowns – some of which I wouldn't be surprised to see on the next red carpets.
With slits up to the thigh, or a bold sweetheart neckline, J. Mendel understands how to present a woman's femininity in a classy way without it looking at all tacky.
Lots of black, some white/nude, red with the inclusion of green (a somewhat different shade to what we're currently seeing grace our Spring/Summer high street) overtake this elegant catwalk in a selection of 44 looks.
Here are my chosen ones:
