Firstly Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you’ve all recovered from the overload of turkey. I was so grateful for the turkey dinners, turkey curry and turkey sandwiches, I’m a little sad it’s all gone already. With the last week being a mix of Christmas working (I know right, so much for bank holidays being ACTUAL holidays in England), chilling and enjoying time with my family, real life took over for a while and so prevented me from being able to update my blog with my Christmas goodies and new year resolutions and such. So since it’s 1st January 2013 – and also my favourite month of the year – I figured I’d start it off right and get cracking with blogging.
So my Christmas was exceptionally good, and I got A-MAZ-ING presents (totally channeling Nicole Scherzinger whenever I think of the break down of the word a-maz-ing or a-maze-balls – lets be honest, her language was far more original than most). To start with, I got a big surprise when I opened an iPad Mini from my parents, which they ‘d also had engraved with a message on the back. As my favourite colour is pink, they got me a Smart Cover to protect it (anyone who doesn’t have one should really invest!) I’ve got to admit I’ve literally used it every day non stop since I’ve got it and its the perfect size to fit in most handbags – not to mention I got a nice black one which now matches my iPhone 5. Now I have no excuse not to blog regularly from now on from wherever I am!
Every year since I can remember, my mum has had a little tradition with me where each Christmas she buys me a ring. This year was no different and the ring was really cute! As a rule I love silver and gunmetal jewellery – no disrespect for gold, but silver is my preference. I also received a gorgeous set of beautiful, real precious stones jewellery by Lola Rose. I love receiving jewellery because they’re great lasting pieces that will brighten and add a touch of glam to any outfit.
I also received beauty products, including special effects and metallics nail varnishes from my favourite brand Nails Inc as well as make-up sets from a great new brand brought to Britain called Front Cover. Additionally I received some joke presents from my parents (it’s definitely lucky we all share the same dry humour) as well as some money – but I’m still trying to work out what to buy with that.
Another really special present I received was my new diary. Every year I always mean to buy a new diary, but I never get round to doing it. Either that or by the time that I do, we’re already two to three months into the new year and it starts seeming pointless because the first lot of pages will remain blank. Some might ask why don’t I use the calendar on my iPhone but for some reason, my brain just doesn’t seem to agree with or like that idea and I never stick to it. However I’ve always admired the diaries created by designers for their exquisite detailing, so I was more than shocked to open this amazing Filofax personal organiser in a pink Ikat design by none other than Alice Temperley! What is so great about this one is not only does the casing have enough space to fit any accessories and my iPhone inside, but the Filofax itself can also be removed and the casing can be used as a unique clutch bag. So it’s basically two gifts in one.
Other than these I got a few extra really nice bits but as time goes on, I’m sure they’ll appear in my styled looks, etc. At least you’ve seen a sneak peek at some of my great ones.
What did you all get?
