Christian Dior Ready to Wear AW13

Presented in Paris Fashion Week.

The only way I can honestly describe this collection is: Absolute Elegance. This Autumn/Winter collection really shows femininity throughout the light fabrics and female silhouette, complimented by the minimalist use of clutch bags and handheld bags teamed with simplistic pointed court shoes that have skinny ankle straps. Midi skirts and dresses along with trouser/pant suits give this collection a very definitive, elegant appearance. Additionally, the introduction to leather prom style dresses and trench coats ensure that this gorgeous Dior collection has a strong edge.

Christian Dior is always a designer that seamlessly “gets it” every time. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these, if not the majority were to make future appearances on red carpets by the A-Listers; maybe even the likes of Natalie Portman as she's been the beautiful face of their perfumes. While a lot of these looks are probably not practical for an every-day person running errands, they are very much occasional pieces – which is primarily what you can expect from this high class designer. With a recurring appearance of houndstooth, the likes of Gwen Stefani could however pull these off as every day sophisticated looks with class, effortlessly.

Black, white and grey make a prominent appearance throughout this collection, with intriguing details of images which appear as drawings/paintings. Pops of red and pink make a subtle entrance within some of the looks. Some pieces have silhouettes of heads/faces, while others have the creativity of adding shoes as a pictorial design – something which adds a really playful aspect to such mature, somewhat formal looks.

With a vast amount of 48 looks, it's certainly been a struggle to pick out my favourites – I can honestly say I truly love them all. However for this post I have narrowed it down to these:
