Louise Gray Ready to Wear AW13

Presented at London Fashion Week.

If I could describe this collection, I'd say its 80s retro meets a modern edge. With a Madonna-esque/Sex and the City “the early years”, this is a very bold collection. I'd even possibly go as far as to say that this collection is perhaps the UK's answer to a sophisticated Betsey Johnson. It's nice to see lots of colour for an AW13 collection, as most contain lots of black with only a hint of colour.

One very individual aspect to these looks is the way they have been accessorized with large (sometimes huge) jewellery, along with exceptionally large hair accessories. The earrings certainly give Eastender's Pat Butcher a run for her money! While the hair might not be practical for off the runway, huge statement jewellery is always great to own.

I'd say I was only a little curious about the inclusion of what I can only assume is a toilet roll on the coat of Look 4, while the left hand side pattern of Look 5 reminded me of the former Louise Gray for Topshop Collection.

Mixing colours and prints/patterns together really gives this collection a young finish.
