It seems Lulu Guinness is taking over this weekend. Having had a browse on her website, I've fallen a little bit in love with one of her newest products; the leopard Leila haircalf clutch.

For the first time, Lulu has created a modern twist on her classic bag – by using a haircalf material for its outer sides, in a leopard print pattern. It really gives the bag character.

Her signature pillar box red (taken as inspiration from her lipstick) fills the interior with a rich, expensive finish. The haircalf exterior mixed with soft leather sides in black gives the bag a unique touch and differentiates it from its sister Leila clutches that are made entirely of soft leather. The black enamel lips magnetic clasp is framed by a gold rim, giving this clutch a luxury finish, securing your contents inside.

Typically a Lulu Guinness price of £375, the Lulu logo printed on the back of the bag, signifying its high quality and authenticity of the brand.

I'll definitely be adding this gorgeous piece to my Wish List.

So last season (that’s Spring/Summer 2013 For those who were a tad confused), say the street stylers embrace transparent, perspex clutch bags. The likes of Charlotte Olympia created beautifully decorated clear rectangular perspex bags with interchangeable patterned inserts to seal valuables, while Zara and Forever 21 created their own takes on the trend; Zara producing the clutches in coloured perspex, while Forever 21 showcasing clear perspex with gold chain and detailing.

For the current Autumn/Winter season, Lulu Guinness has jumped on this bandwagon to create a couple of extra perspex lips clutches – only this time in transparent pink and yellow. That’s right, her signature clutch bag has had a make over and Lulu has joined the gang who loved to show their insides outside.

Only available at Selfridges, these perspex, transparent lips clutches are available for the slightly pricey cost of £245 each. Although, they certainly are a definite conversation starter for anyone who accessorises and brightens their looks with these babies:

PINK
OR
YELLOW

The only question now, is to decide which one to invest in?! Decisions, decisions…

Trans-seasonal Topshop picks

Trans-seasonal Topshop picks by krystal-scanlon

As a loyal lover and former part-time employee of the Topshop brand, I’m always curious to see what they present to us each season. I’ve always felt that their trends can be hit or miss – one season can be absolutely spot on and amazing, while the next mediocre. That’s not to say that key pieces within a mediocre trend aren’t fab, just I’d only be keen to purchase a couple of items instead of buying the entire shop.

As you can see, I’ve picked products above which are noted as “Margot’s World” on the Topshop website. I’ve included both canvas boots, and metallic sandals because both are equally great to wear right now as we are slowly moving from high summer to the beginning of autumn fashion. I’ve always been keen to find coloured shoes and the pink leather mid-heels are a perfect combination of trendy-comfort. I am absolutely in love with the denim borg jacket and think I’ll be investing in one of these very soon. Not to mention the classic midi chiffon tartan skirt. I’m always skeptical at my height whether I can really pull off a midi skirt, but this one definitely deserves a try – so I’ll get back to you on that.

Watch this space – no doubt I’ll be including some of these great products in my newest blog section, “Style Diary” – coming VERY soon!

As the warm weather approaches, so do the brightest of colours. When you're feeling bolder than a pastel hue, turn to the brights and neon trend. As seen among the catwalks of Proenza Schouler, Erdem and Oscar de la Renta, those sitting on the Frows were reaching into their bags for a pair of shades.

For the brightest effects, team a bright or neon colour with white. However, if you want to inject the trend into your looks but feel the colours are a little too “out there”, start by using a neon nail polish or wear a bright accessory.

Below are a few of the examples I've picked which are already available to purchase. My favourite has got to be the electric blue jumper by Topshop. Not only will it keep you warm while we're waiting for Spring to arrive, it also touches upon the cropped clothing trend of SS13 also seen on the runways.

Star Style

Another star ahead of her time is Jessica Biel. Back when neon brights was just emerging as a new “watch out” trend in SS11, Jessica was donning these Pigalle pink pumps by Christian Louboutin as she walked the red carpet in London for the “Total Recall” premiere in August 2012.

She was already potentially (possibly unknowingly) forecasting the SS13 trend and doing it justice by teaming her bright pink court shoes with the gorgeous white Giambattista Valli Couture. Unfortunately the pink colour-way of this Pigalle shoe was from the Christian Louboutin's Spring 2012 collection, so they are no longer available to purchase.
