As you all probably know, October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness. Such an important cause (particularly personal for me) which we need to not only support, but donate towards in order to continue the research for cures and fund mammograms.

Each year, as well as the iconic pink ribbon badges we see women (and men) wearing across the globe, Breakthrough Breast Cancer Care teams up with several brands across the high street. Selected or specifically designed products are chosen, and for each one that is sold, a portion of the money is donated automatically to the charity.

This year, even more brands across the high street have gotten involved with this cause; across fashion and beauty among other products.

Here are some of the great ones I’ve found by trawling through the internet to find you the best picks for 2013. I’ve mostly focused on Beauty products – because there is such a huge selection, as well as a couple of fashion and gift ideas.

Additionally, another fantastic idea comes from the campaign by ITV’s Lorraine, called “Bin Your Bra“.


The idea is that you head to your nearest House of Fraser branch during these first two weeks of October, with your unwanted bras and pop them in the special Lorraine “Bin Your Bra” Bins. These bras will then be sent to developing countries by the charity.

With New York Fashion Week upon us, London Fashion week starting on Friday – outfits (or OOTD/WIWT for you tech savvy lot) and catwalk shows are on everyones lips. With all the up-to-the-minute fashion news courtesy of bloggers and Editors across New York, London, Milan and Paris (as well as the rest of the world), its no wonder we're all very conscious of our everyday style and looks.

Luckily, after some research, I've come across some great iPhone/iPad apps (sorry Blackberry users – I'm a Mac/iPhone girl so only one of these – as far as I know – is available for Android users) which will solve all your personal outfit issues and keep you “in-the-know” of the latest fashion and style from around the globe.

This app is genius. Created by co-founders Jess Moore (former vogue fashion cupboard intern) and Bill Atkins (programmer), the idea was inspired by Jess's experiences of working in the magazine's fashion cupboard, day in day out, trying to track and organise samples while turning up to her placement looking fashionable on a budget. This app has over 90 exciting features including the ability to input your own clothes, track your style using a calender, packing lists for holidays and many, many more. Now available on both iPhone and iPad from the App store for £2.49.

This app was born in Britain and launched as a bi-product from the creators of the Mail, YOU magazine and Metro newspapers. It acts as a sort of “fashion social network”, where anyone has the ability to sign up in a few easy steps to create a profile. Next, you upload all of your outfits (aka OOTD, WIWT, TIW – you know the gist) to your profile, and once it's uploaded, everyone on the TIW network and take a look and rate your look by pressing the “like” button, or following your profile for updates. There's the added bonuses of being rated by the Editors of the app as they identify their “Editor's Pick” each day, not to mention the chance to win £100 worth of Topshop vouchers for your looks. Similar to Today I'm Wearing, Pose allows you to upload photos of your daily style. However, here's the clever bit. Ever wondered where you can purchase someone you've seen someone else wear? With Pose, you'll notice little highlighted dots on certain items in each image. Click on these and you'll be given info on what the product is and from where. Some extra nice people even give direct links to these exact items to save you time too! Available on iPhone, iPad (for FREE) and Android.

One great function of this app, you can create a slide show type clip of your selected pics across the app, add some music and hey presto – you've created your own little street style catwalk! Shenae Grimes (aka Annie from 90210 for those who don't know) got hitched to her gorge hunk of a fiancé, British model and musician Josh Beech yesterday, Friday 10th May in London, England. They enjoyed a really nice, private and intimate affair with close friends and family. According to Us Weekly the couple exchanged vows in a countryside Tudor manor while Shenae walked down the aisle to some non-traditional house music.

Shenae's wedding dress may have been a complete shock to her fans given the fact she went completely against the grain of tradition and donned an elegant midnight-and-blush Vera Wang wedding gown. She accented her dramatically romantic gown with deep red flowers and styled her hair in a curled updo.

The dress comes from Vera Wang's Fall 2012 collection. Vera had released this incredibly dark, black collection just shortly before announcing her separation from her husband, Alexander Wang. Poetic eh?

Originally thought to be a one off collection, a lot of bridal designers have now followed suit and begun incorporating this heavy hue into their own wedding collections.

Not only is she one of my favourite US fashionistas, she looked absolutely beautiful in the gown.


So today the infamous (and gorgeous) Justin Timberlake turned 32. And boy does he look better with each year. (Jessica Biel really is a lucky lady!) With the recent release of his latest single, Suit & Tie featuring Jay Z, Justin is looking towards the release of his forthcoming album The 20/20 Experience on March 19th in the US – with a probable later date for the rest of the world. He certainly will be busy this year with his music, not to mention a planned upcoming performance at The Grammy Awards 2013 on February 10th. It'll be the first time he's even set foot on the stage in four years.

News has also wide spread that Justin teamed up with successful fashion designer Tom Ford for the suits in his official music video for Suit & Tie, as well as a selection of artwork for his upcoming album.

According to Tom Ford himself, the pair created a “refined style that will be a focal point of 'The 20/20 Experience'”.

By the sounds of it, this collaboration was a perfect match, with Ford admitting, “I adore Justin”.

“He has an innate style and enormous talent. It had been such a pleasure and honour to work with him throughout this entire creative process.”

The Suit & Tie artwork cover features Justin donning a Tom Ford tuxedo, shirt and satin bowtie to finish – deemed to be a signature Menswear look of the designer.

Additionally the song's official lyric video features further pieces from the Timberlake-Ford collaboration, which includes a three-piece suit, leather loafers and black onyx cuff links.

Perhaps we'll see some of this fresh, sophisticated image of Justin's on an upcoming tour? We sure hope so!


Ladies get ready because later this month (next week in fact) Wrangler are launching its first collection of moisturising jeans – which prevent the dehydration effects that denim has on the skin. One style in particular are supposed to combat the effects of cellulite. Hallelujah! That's right, the brand have created what's possibly a moisturising miracle to all of our prayers.

This new denim range called Denim Spa promises to reduce cellulite while moisturising and soothing sensitive skin. During the manufacturing process, the jeans are sprayed with moisturising ingredients including passion fruit oil, rose hip oil, apricot kernel oil, monoi de Tahiti, squalene and Shea butter. When the jeans are worn, these hydrating properties are then transferred to the skin.

Lizzie Jagger – the face of Wrangler's latest Denim Spa range – commented on the effects while filming a campaign to promote the new styles:

“They definitely feel cooler than regular jeans. After a day of wearing them [on set] my legs feel great – they come out feeling more silky than usual.”

By the look of the campaign images (including and especially the one above), if those jeans can shape our thighs and butts like Lizzie Jagger's – they're worth every single penny!

The new collection comes in three finishes: Smooth Legs (the anti-cellulite model), Olive Extract (for moisurisation), and Aloe Vera (to soothe sensitive skin). They are available in three different skinny leg styles and priced at £85.

The shaping and smoothing effects of the Smooth Legs jeans are supposed to last for around 15 days wear (or the equivalent – 6-8 washes). A reload spray will then need to be applied with every wash – but this product is sold with the jeans.

This collection launches on 28th January 2013 and will be available on So girls if I were you, these new jeans seem like a real treat so save some of your payday cash and invest!
