Daks SS15 backstage

Presented at London Fashion week.

Having been able to stream this show live, the minimal colours, and fresh looks presented were tailored, while some contrasted with a feminine movement.

Black and white in among a lilac-blue and grey were the main colour stories for this collection. Each look was very sophisticated and fitted. Some were even accessorized with a floral choker – think Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.

While these looks could be considered simple in most cases, the simplicity is what made them unique – while the confidence of the models strutting down the catwalk enabled each outfit to speak for itself.

Sharp, crisp collars and long sleeve white shirts made a smart appearance, as did halternecks, high-necks, and feathered trousers. London Fashion Week SS15 is certainly off to a smashing start.

These are my favourite looks from the full 35 piece collection:

I haven’t really seen much of this designer before, but this particular collection grabbed my attention almost instantly. It’s definitely one of my top NYFW shows of this season.

Mixed prints of monochrome – polka dots, florals and a repetitive square print graced the catwalk, followed by hints of blue, yellow, raspberry and a pearlescent pink. From low cut necklines, off-the-shoulder and crop tops, mesh, mid length skirts contrasted by fitted looks and peplums. Each model looked sophisticated and stunning.

You can always trust Jeremy Scott’s show to go off with a bang and a statement – literally. Slogans, vibrant colours, and quirky prints filled this latest space by the renowned designer.

This collection represented a very festival/rave feel with a hint of a 70s vibe with the flower-power florals and head dresses, a-line cut dresses and flowing skirts. Even really short-shorts made an appearance with bikinis. These looks are fabulous for anyone who really wants to make a solid entrance.

And lets not forget the funky printed dr. marten boots to give each look a bit of a punk edge, cropped bomber jackets and “fuck shit up” statement – which is exactly what Scott does: he mixes it up and plays by his own rules to create his masterpieces.

Such a refreshing brightness to this latest collection by Tanya Taylor, as we see white take a prominent stance in most of the looks. Cropped and boxy shaped tops again with midi length skirts are the go-to for this season, as we see a really feminine shape take hold.

A mixture of minimal florals on bold backgrounds really took form, while the models themselves looked very fresh faced, with a fabulous pop of a tangerine lip to complete the look.

Mainly monochrome with a pop of colour, this collection was classy to the core.

Mixing prints – some of which you might never have done before – florals with stripes, jackets with bracelet sleeves, and a comfy chunky heeled sandal to finish each look.

The runway floor itself was a replication of one of the prints within some of the looks on show and really added to that mish-mash of a sophisticated modernity to both tailored and casual outfits.

A mixture of cropped tops – some with mesh inserts and others with long sleeves – matched with mini skirts or trousers, as well as the seemingly popular midi length skirt and peplum hem skirts. With such defined trends already, looks like SS15 could be one of the strongest seasons yet.
